Congratulatory Letter, Gerald M. Birnberg, Texas Democratic Party
June 5, 2003
Dear Gerry,
Congratulations on your election as Harris County Democratic Chair! Enclosed you will find a certificate in honor of your service. The office that you hold is very important to the structure of the Texas Democratic Party and to the ability of our candidates to be successful. Thank you for your commitment of time and effort.
President John F. Kennedy planned to give a speech to the Texas Democratic Party in Austin, on November 22, 1963. As we all know he never had the opportunity to give the speech, but his words still apply today:
The Democratic Party is not a collection of diverse interests brought together only to win elections. We are united instead by a common heritage by a respect for the deeds of the past and a recognition of the needs of the future. Never satisfied with today, we have always staked our fortune on tomorrow.
Today, tomorrow, and each day thereafter, the light of hope in Texas will grow stronger as Democrats continue to fight for Texas families. Thank you for your leadership in this endeavor.
Together we can win in 2004.
Proud to be a Democrat!
Molly Beth Malcolm,
Texas Democratic Party Chair
